Our Story
Just the two of us…..Sonya Frank and Sandy Dorris!
We’ve had a presence in the quaint little Village of Leiper’s Fork for over 26 combined years. Our backgrounds have been very similar, in that we both have loved antiquing, flea markets, estate sales, Pop-Up Shows, decorating ,staging, etc. Most importantly “the thrill of the hunt” as we search for special things for our homes and our shop.
Having owned and managed shops, booths and an estate sales business, we began brainstorming on what we wanted to do with our experience and most important, what would be enjoyable?
A booth rental in an Antique Mall is where we began this adventure. We filled our booth with the best we could find. It was important to make the outside of booth as pretty as the inside. We wanted to make our little space attractive and welcoming, so we bought an old broken piece of fence for the outside wall, filled it with vintage flowers to make an inviting entrance for our customers. It was stunning and everyone loved “the look”! We were told it made quite a WELCOME STATEMENT…It was our favorite purchase!!!
As time went on we wanted to do more so, once again, we put our heads together and decided a shop was going to be our next adventure. With our little old piece of fence in hand we rented a house in the center of Leiper’s Fork, Franklin, Tn.
Today, it still remains our favorite purchase. It now hangs in the front yard of our little shop in the center of Leiper’s Fork. Drum roll.......our shop is…..you guessed it ,THE PICK-IT FENCE. (designed and made by our very good friend Merle Suratt) That little old piece of picket fence became the branding for one of the cutest little antique and home decor shops in “The Fork” (also known as Leipers Fork. We are located about 8 miles from downtown Franklin, Tn.
We are unique but so are “YOU” our customers. We love the support you have given us and want to say, “thank you” for your business.
Our most valued finds have been the people we having the privilege of meeting on a daily basis. We appreciate the out of town visitors, loyal clients and all the friendships we have made along the way. We never meet a stranger and we always want you to feel like our Pick-it Fence family.
Shops may come and shops may go but the relationships are priceless, along with our little old broken piece of PICKET FENCE!
